The symposium was a unique opportunity for practitioners, academics and policy makers to gain a greater understanding of the findings of the 2013 Children’s Dental Health Survey. It brought together leading academics from the fields of paediatric dentistry, dental public health and health psychology.
The survey is the fifth in a series of national children’s dental health surveys carried out every 10 years since 1973. It is an unrivalled source of information on the dental health of children in the England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and their experiences of dental care and treatment and oral hygiene. It also measures changes in oral health since the last survey in 2003.
